The tools are useful for early planning by homeowners, DIY builders, estimators, and roofing crews. They do not inspect a building, certify a design, select a structural member, or replace product instructions, an on-site measurement, or a qualified professional.

Roofing Calculator is owned and operated by RealMatrix PTE LTD, a Singapore-based product studio that builds focused web tools. The Roofing Calculator editorial team maintains the formulas, calculator interfaces, diagrams, and supporting guides. We do not present the team as roof engineers, code officials, insurance adjusters, or roofing contractors, and we do not invent professional credentials or endorsements.

How Calculations Are Checked

Core arithmetic is maintained in one shared calculation library. Pitch and rafter results use trigonometry; roof area uses the calculated pitch factor; material estimates use measured area, declared product coverage, edge lengths, and explicit waste inputs. Known reference cases—such as a 6:12 pitch equaling about 26.57 degrees with a 1.118 factor—are covered by automated regression tests.

The complete formulas, unit conventions, assumptions, and worked examples are published on the methodology page. When product coverage varies, the calculator exposes the input instead of claiming one package standard fits every brand. The quote-range tool likewise uses rates supplied by the user; it does not publish an invented national or regional price database.
